"I voted against this non-legislative and non-binding report. I am opposed to the development of a centralised EU defence and foreign policy capability. As such I reject the annual review process of CSDP and CFSP and the calls for increased EU capability contained within this report. I remain fully committed to NATO as the primary guarantor of security in Europe. I am supportive of the NATO 2% defence spending minimum. It is UKIP party policy to ensure the UK remains at least above 2% and we would also encourage fellow NATO allies to meet this commitment. I am however uneasy at language contained within this report in which the EU calls on Member States to meet this requirement. There is a fine line between this and the 2% commitment to NATO being replaced with one to the EU. This risks further undermining NATO and risks the position of traditionally neutral countries."@en1
