"I abstained on this legislative, consent procedure (single vote) report. UKIP objects to the EU dictating our terms of trade, so we would have been minded to vote against, however due to the sensitive nature of the report we did not oppose. There are practical problems in defining ‘items of torture’. Our concern in the future is that conventional and innocuous items could be added the list of restricted goods and may affect legitimate trade. UKIP, of course, condemns any form of torture."@en1
