"I voted in favour of this report as the collection of statistical data will enable Member States to plan their energy needs better. In addition, the collection of prices will enable the internal energy market to function better and ultimately lead to lower prices for consumers. I am pleased that the Commission carried out extensive consultations with the Member States governments so that the proposal put forward that was acceptable to the majority."@en1
