"I am deeply concerned the regarding the escalation of violence and the alarming and deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. An independent and transparent investigation should be launched in order to assess the human rights violations and war crimes. The European Union should work closely with the African Union to ensure a permanent political dialogue in order to prevent any further destabilisation of the region. I welcome the any effort to implement and maintain peace in the region on the part of the Congolese Authorities."@en1
