lpv:spoken text	"I was happy to vote in favour of the joint motion for a resolution on the subject of non-tariff barriers in the single market. The single market is one of the pillars of the European Union and the removal of non-tariff barriers would be a huge leap forward in the European single market economy and undoubtedly result in a more harmonised and prosperous Union. While it is not feasible, nor economical, for all non-tariff barriers to be removed, a removal of certain non-tariff barriers would be a major contributor to European prosperity. Due to the principle of subsidiarity, there will be a degree of national variation of regulatory practice which allows countries to compete with each other on the basis of different regulatory approaches. Consumers across Europe would benefit most from the removal of the non-tariff barriers because of the resulting lowered prices and the increased choice in goods and services."@en1
