"I fully support the EU Agency for Railways report. Together with the Safety (RSD) and Interoperability Directives (IOD), the European Railway Agency (ERA) Regulation is intended to remove the technical obstacles posed by differences in national standards – cutting the time and cost required to obtain authorisation for operations, locomotives and rolling stock to use the European rail network. The new rules facilitate the European agency as a one-stop shop. Some national competences will gradually be delegated to it over a three-year transition period to enable the ERA to reduce costs and certification deadlines for the rail industry, similar to the EU air model."@en1
