lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of this annual report that highlights progress and deficiencies and makes recommendations in the field of public access to documents. Public access to documents is regulated by Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, revision of which has been stuck in Council since 2008. ALDE has taken a lead position, advocating for a revision of this Regulation and a proactive and enlarged application of the concept of public access to documents, in line with our priorities towards transparency. Public access to documents is a vital element of transparency policies and should contribute to restoring citizens’ trust in the EU institutions and their decision-making process."@en1
