"Mr President, the Erasmus Programme has been a great success story in providing opportunities for student mobility across the European Union. In Scotland alone, 1 877 students participated in the scheme in the 2012-13 intake. However, we must ensure that students involved in vocational training and education also enjoy the benefits of an Erasmus experience. The opportunity to study and train abroad can be life-changing. It is unsurprising that Eurosceptics do not want young people in the UK and Scotland to benefit from these opportunities – opportunities we would lose if we came out of the European Union. I hope Scottish students and apprentices alike can benefit from these life—changing and enhancing opportunities."@en1
