"It is clear that something needs to be done about the billions and billions of pounds lost every year to tax evasion and aggressive tax avoidance. This report, co-drafted by Labour MEP Anneliese Dodds, marks a major step forward. People across the UK, and the EU, are rightly furious that they face higher taxes or cuts to public services as a result of multinational companies with clever advisers reducing their own tax bills to almost nothing. This report sets out a clear plan for action at EU level that will stop these kinds of practices once and for all. The Tories should be deeply ashamed of voting against it. David Cameron should listen to the voice of British and European people and act on these recommendations as soon as possible."@en1
