"I voted in favour of this resolution as it urges the Commission to draw up a new and ambitious EU strategy for the protection and welfare of animals and stresses that improving the enforcement of, and compliance with, existing legislation should be the key goal of all animal health and welfare rules. Labour MEPs have always been and will continue to be active in ensuring that animal rights and animal welfare are respected in the UK and across Europe."@en1
