"Madam President, Thomas Jefferson once said that peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations are important, but we should not be entangling alliances with anyone. The World Trade Organization is an important organisation in that we need trade liberalisation and tariff reductions and we need to deal with anti-dumping. Unfortunately, our governments in the past have not listened to Thomas Jefferson’s words, and we have become entangled with the European Union, thus losing our spot in the World Trade Organization. As a consequence, we cannot influence properly the world trade liberalisation programme. We cannot influence tariff reductions that would benefit the people of the United Kingdom. Instead, we have to listen to EU technocrats, with their expansionist ideas, who will have it in their own interests, not those of our nation. Only by leaving the EU with a vote for ‘Brexit’, hopefully next year, will Britain regain its space in the World Trade Organization and be able to have growth in our economy once again."@en1
