"I wholeheartedly support the Noichl report, because I believe the EU should be an engine to secure gender equality across Europe. Because of inequality, women still earn less money than men for the same job. They are victims of discrimination in their pensions and on the labour markets, and face a higher risk of poverty and social exclusion. Women also account for 80% of human trafficking victims. These are issues on which the EU can make the difference, and it boggles the mind that anti-gender radical traditionalist movements have been virulently attacking the report, pushing for a watered-down vision for gender equality instead. I applaud the fact that MEPs refused to cave in to the pressure and backed clear and ambitious measures put forward by this report, calling for equality for all."@en1
