"The proposed delegated act will not only permit the use of a carcinogenic substance in the European market but will also stifle innovation in cadmium-free technology.
European regulation should be designed not only to restrict materials that pose an unacceptable public health risk but should also favour innovation. The proposals are out of date and are a symptom of bad regulation. Regulations in areas of technology need to react quickly to constant change, not only for public health but so that European technology firms are not placed at a competitive disadvantage within international markets.
For these reasons I support this objection to the proposed delegated act."@en1
