"I am happy to support the mobilisation of the EGF for the 5 213 workers who were made redundant by Air France in 2013. 60% of workers targeted were men and 69% were aged between 55 and 64. I was extremely disappointed that only 6.28% of the EUR 51.8 million support (EUR 26 million being the EU contribution) was spent on training and 42% on allowances foreseen under personalised services. In this context I am happy to say that the new Regulation has capped those allowances at 35%. However it is positive that up to 955 workers can access grants up to EUR 24 000 for setting up their own business. These grants can be paid in instalments once certain milestones have been reached."@en1
