lpv:spoken text	"We support the resolution on state aid, in particular the call for much more democratic oversight of state aid policy. The Commission must take into account the views of MEPs, national and regional/local authorities in the development of state aid policy. Earlier this week, the Commission released a draft version of the revised state aid guidelines for regional aid. The proposals seek to prohibit aid to large companies in category (c) areas and to reduce aid intensity. While some aspects of the proposal are welcome, local authorities from across the UK have made it clear to the Commission that these proposals could jeopardise economic recovery in regions with high levels of unemployment where large firms are often the catalyst for growth. The Commission needs to respond to these legitimite concerns and meet with representatives of local authorities before finalising the new rules later this year."@en1
