"Mr President, I am going to start with a quote from the Bible: ‘Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the speck out of thy brother’s eye’.
On human rights the hypocrite’s beam is the European Arrest Warrant. Its consequence is that 60 million British citizens and residents fall under the jurisdiction of continental Europe’s harsh and alien legal systems. It is no exaggeration to say that potentially we are all at risk. If this Assembly is to be taken seriously on human rights, instead of wittering away about violations in countries where we have no influence – like India, as the gentleman did there – it would be much better if you instead joined the campaign for immediate suspension of the European Arrest Warrant prior to its abolition."@en1
