However, I do not think Colombia has adequately satisfied the criteria to benefit from such a commercially viable agreement while trade unionists have faced such treatment. It is too early to abandon the ‘carrot’ in the carrot-and-stick approach of using trade policy to improve human rights standards with Colombia. For this reason, I voted against this report."@en1
