"(
Madam President, I voted in favour of this report because it is essential for a high level of road safety and environmental protection to be ensured. By this means, we will be able to help the internal market function better. Simplifying the existing legislation will make the sector more competitive. Harmonised standards for the manufacture of agricultural and forestry vehicles are needed.
At the same time, we need a common framework for the marketing of products. This will contribute to the application of the new regulations and compliance with them. Unlimited and non-discriminatory access to information concerning vehicle repairs and maintenance is very important. I believe that the right balance guaranteeing free access to technical information must be struck. I also believe that we should have regard to all causes for concern relating to consumer protection and fair competition."@en1
