lpv:translated text	"Considering that it is of utmost importance that crews being trained in different countries and under different systems operating onboard the same ship have the capacities needed to perform their duties in a safe manner, and that training therefore plays an important role in maritime safety; and recalling that training and certification of seafarers is regulated by the Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW Convention) which was adopted in 1978 and significantly amended in 1995 and again at the convention in Manila in 2010, it is now necessary to transpose the changes already agreed by the Member States to the STCW Convention at the International Maritime Organisation in order to bring European legislation into line with the amended STCW Convention. I therefore voted in favour of the proposal."@en1
