"− I supported the non-legislative resolution calling on the European Commission to take all necessary steps, including the imposition of sanctions, to encourage Member States to eliminate borders in the Single European Sky. The majority of EU Member States, including Germany and France, will not have merged their air traffic control areas into nine Functional Airspace Blocks by the deadline of 4 December 2012. This unjustified delay means that airlines and their passengers will not have access to shorter, quicker and cheaper routes, in the view of MEPs."@en1
