This has been seen as a major obstacle to further expansion of the IMI system, which has developed as an effective tool for different Member States’ administrative structures in their day-to-day cooperation with their counterparts in other Member States, ensuring a proper channel of information exchange in different languages and guaranteeing, at the same time, a higher than traditional channels of communication level of data protection."@en1
