In order to phase out trade barriers, it is necessary for partner countries to properly meet the conditions laid down. There should be a particular focus on the implementation of democracy, the principles of the rule of law and human rights. Furthermore, investment protection must be strengthened and customs and other administrative procedures streamlined.
