The economic, financial and budgetary crisis that the European Union is experiencing, high taxation and the economic and social disparities between the Member States and the regions are all factors that are putting a brake on foreign investment in Europe. This situation could deteriorate with growing competition from the emerging economies. The European Union needs to implement a strategy in order better to meet investor expectations."@en¹
