I am in agreement with the rapporteur that the implementation of these rules is of high importance and thus have voted in favour of this amendment. Concerning Amendment 21: In relation to tachograph requirements and the importance of road safety, it is important that the ’daily working period’ is clearly defined, to ensure the welfare of bus drivers and others on the road. Therefore, I have voted in favour of this amendment. Concerning Amendment 38: It is important to set specific goals for fitting international transport vehicles with smart tachographs. Due to the high percentage of vehicles still utilising analogue tachographs, I am in favour of the addition of this amendment."@en1
