"Mr President, I have listened to the entire debate on the Stevenson report here this morning, and I must say that I am disappointed to hear that the Council is not acknowledging the Treaty of Lisbon and the resulting new powers conferred on Parliament.
When one considers that experts like Mr Stevenson, Pat the Cope Gallagher, Mr Cadec, Mr Kuhn, Mr Davies and others are doing their best to solve the problems being faced by the fishermen, and are not getting fair treatment or cooperation from the Council, that is not right and we should not put up with it.
A huge majority have just now voted in favour of this report: 593 in favour out of a total of 610 who voted. I hope this will encourage Mr Stevenson to continue with the good work."@en1
