"This vote was an opportunity to re-open the debate on the location of the seat of the European Parliament. However, this situation is based on historical references and on legal texts which cannot be called into question by often erroneous attacks on costs or damages relating to the fact that the premises of the European Parliament are widely dispersed. The issue of Strasbourg or Brussels does not arise here since, under the treaties historically establishing our Union, Strasbourg is the rule and Brussels the exception."@en1
