However, in order to have a competitive digital single market, we must fulfil a series of technical and legal preconditions aimed at consolidating eGovernment services in Europe. It is necessary to promote cross-border interoperability, implement ‘one-stop shop’ approaches and use electronic identification and payment schemes throughout the EU.
