"I voted for this report, which aims to guarantee adequate coordination of national social security systems at EU level and thus strengthen workers’ welfare. This means, for example, supporting provisions on unemployment benefit for self-employed workers and provisions on aircrew members. The report by Milan Cabrnoch also widens the scope of coordination of social security systems to include people who are unemployed, not yet working or no longer working. The proposal supports the introduction, in Member States that wish to introduce them, of new benefits such as paternity and early retirement allowances. Milan Cabrnoch, a member of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group, was responsible for this report, and once again this shows us that the socialists do not have the monopoly over social measures for citizens."@en1
