lpv:translated text	"A special parliamentary committee on organised crime, corruption and money laundering has been set up by the European Parliament. It will have a year to investigate the infiltration of the EU’s legal economy, the public sector and financial systems by organised crime, including by mafias, and to recommend means to combat it. The misappropriation of public funds, the infiltration of the public sector and the contamination of the legal economy and financial system are the main threats posed by criminal organisations in the European Union. During its term in office, the committee will evaluate the extent of the impact of organised crime on the EU economy and society and will recommend legislative and other measures to enable the EU to respond to these threats at national, European and international levels. In short, Europe is sending a clear message to criminal organisations and gangs. In the next part-session, we shall vote on the composition of this committee, which will then be able to start its work by the end of April."@en1
