lpv:translated text	"Mr President, I support the amendment of the Council’s 26 legislative acts relating to the common trade policy so as to bring them into line with the new system of delegated and implementing acts. I welcome the more efficient way of exercising the Commission’s implementing powers. It will also help increase the effectiveness of the common commercial policy and enable the EU to become more competitive globally. At the same time, I welcome the Commission’s initiative to highlight the changes which have taken place in the wake of the Lisbon Treaty in terms of the legal framework and institutional balance. I support the Commission’s proposal to resort to the examination procedure in most cases involving implementing acts. Safeguard measures have an important role in this proposal and I, too, would like to stress the need for them in this context."@en1
