lpv:translated text	"I welcome the fact that a Memorandum of Understanding has been reached between the EU and US, as well as between the EU and Canada. I think that the prompt conclusion of these documents is in the interest of European producers. The EU and US economies account for roughly half of global GDP. The transatlantic partnership is crucial for the economy, trade and European jobs, and trade disputes make cooperation difficult between both trade partners. At the same time, the resolution of the European Parliament of 8 March 2011 must be respected, which called for an end to the sanctions imposed by the US and Canada on products originating from the EU and the provision of clear guarantees regarding beef imports which need to come into line with the food safety requirements stipulated by European legislation. In this respect, I welcome the proposal that the European executive can suspend the EU’s annual tariff quota if the agreement is not implemented or maintained by the US and Canada."@en1
