"As well as being an instrument for evaluating policies being applied, European statistics are also useful in that their results may affect or bring about a review of the economic and fiscal policies being applied. This being so, I voted in favour of this own-initiative report on quality management for European statistics. The more reliable, valid and free from manipulation statistics are, the better their quality, validity and, hence, their effectiveness. The present report includes proposals, experience and best practices that Greece would do well to apply."@en1
