However, scientists have not yet succeeded in accurately determining the level of fish stocks, in this case of the Atlantic horse mackerel. As a result, all the measures that are taken are based solely on estimates. Nevertheless, these estimates must be used to establish the total allowable catches. I have voted in favour of the motion for a resolution because it will be necessary in the long term to maintain or restore fish stocks to a level at which the greatest possible yield can be achieved."@en1
