"This resolution claims that stability bonds can foster stability in the euro area. However, these bonds promote dependence on free financial markets, which are precisely the cause of the instability. They also serve to justify forcing Member States to gradually move towards a policy of permanent restraint. In so doing, they hide the solutions that are needed as a matter of urgency. What we need to do is to cancel the illegitimate portion of sovereign debt, make the European Central Bank buy back another portion, set up a coordinated European policy to boost activity and jobs and organise a coordinated raising of tax on capital and income. I voted against this text."@en1
