That is why I consider it important that the Commission inform Parliament about its development and implementation, and that this be done using annual reports. While it is true that European competition policy is one of the most successful competition policies and a model copied by other jurisdictions, the reality is that there are still areas of the European market in which it is still crucial to ensure more competition and the smoother running of the market.
