"The Daphne programme is the only European programme explicitly aimed at combating violence towards women, children and young people. This programme has existed since 1997 and has enabled the funding of more than 500 projects, studies and campaigns, particularly on the risks children face surfing the Internet, on stopping child pornography … This programme has been a genuine success but unfortunately, it is applied very unevenly by the Member States. That is why I welcome this report, which proposes to maintain the Daphne programme’s objectives in the new rights and citizenship programme for the period 2014-2020, and which recommends better targeting of projects, also taking into account new forms of violence linked to the use of online social networks."@en1
