lpv:translated text	"I applaud the approval of this report on the European dimension in sport. I want to underline the contribution of sport to the EU’s strategic objectives, especially those related to the key values of education and culture. It is also an important vector of integration. I believe the reference to doping in the report is positive. Doping is an attack on the values of sport and puts sportspeople’s lives at risk. It is a problem that I have reported on many occasions. In this plenary, I have already argued that the way to fight against doping is to work not just for fair competition, but also for the health of the citizens. I take this opportunity to reaffirm the fact that scientific investigations into doping need a European dimension. A combined effort is needed to more effectively identify and combat the increasingly more dangerous substances and processes that are used in doping. It is notable that there is a request within this report for the accession of the EU to the Anti-Doping Convention of the Council of Europe and I would to like to reiterate the importance of European legislation against this dangerous activity."@en1
