Moreover, in a world where around one sixth of the population is starving, food wastage constitutes an enormous ethical problem. Therefore, the European Union, which is part of the group of developed countries, should enhance the efficiency of the food chain, in order to improve food management at every stage, from production to the consumer’s table.
