"I voted in favour of this own-initiative report which highlights how critical space activities and applications are to the growth and economic development of the European Union. I fully support the policy pursued by the European Commission for strengthening space infrastructure and increasing efforts to support research. I think that it is crucial, however, that the European Global Positioning System (GPS) programme, Galileo, and the Earth monitoring programme, GMES, be included within the European space strategy and, accordingly, the European Commission must contribute to their funding."@en1
