"The amendment of the directive on the consumption of fruit juices and their production in Europe is a sensitive, hotly debated issue which concerns many consumers. The text, which I voted for, seeks to improve current products by protecting consumers through better information. Buyers must have the opportunity to know exactly what kind of product they are buying, its quality, and, leaving aside discussions on the preservation of the fruit used, the saccharin or sugar content and the difference between products which are derived from fruit concentrate and those that are not. I think that the most important factor is precisely the opportunity to have a better end product that consumers are able to choose in a clear and informed manner."@en1
