lpv:translated text	"In addition to its comprehensive, properly contextualised analysis, this own-initiative report by my fellow Member of the Committee on International Trade, Mr Sturdy, proposes various concrete measures aimed at promoting free trade on a global scale, in line with the rules set out by the World Trade Organisation. In the 15 pages of his report, which I recommend that all those who are interested in matters relating to international trade read, especially in relation to its legislative framework in recent years, I would also emphasise the need to eliminate non-tariff barriers to trade and investment, as one of the main objectives of EU trade policy under the Europe 2020 strategy. Of the many corrective and preventative measures that it proposes, I would like to highlight only one: that the Commission should study an early warning system to detect non-tariff barriers, and the strengthening of its existing analytical tools for the better qualitative evaluation of these barriers. From what I have said thus far, it is easy to see that I have voted for the report, and I would like to congratulate Mr Sturdy for the excellent work that he has carried out."@en1
