"I voted against the report on the European Semester for Economic Policy Coordination because, although it adopts a relatively critical tone, it is still in keeping with the Europe 2020 strategy, with the efforts to strengthen the single market and the ‘six-pack’, and, in particular, with the Wortmann-Kool report. This just goes to show that some MEPs are talking out of both sides of their mouths. There is no point in saying here that parliamentary approval of public budgets is one of the foundations of democracy when the legislative texts say otherwise. Yet again, economic policies are being prioritised over social issues. This report will have no effect on current European policies. I therefore have no reason to change my vote against the ‘six-pack’."@en1
