Hannes Swoboda’s report welcomes the conclusion of the accession negotiations and calls on Croatia to organise a referendum and vote on the Accession Treaty. It also calls on Member States to conclude the ratification process quickly. I supported this report. Croatia has met its commitments. However, the Croatian Government needs to resolve the challenges which persist, such as those posed by the judicial system and the continuing battle against corruption and organised crime. Structural reforms also need to be made in the economy, and competitiveness must be stimulated."@en1
