"I welcomed this proposal because we must ensure that negotiations with Georgia continue at a steady pace and that the association agreement is a comprehensive and forward-looking framework for the further development of relations with Georgia in coming years. I believe that we need to base the EU’s commitment and ongoing negotiations with Georgia on a European perspective, which is considered a valuable lever for the implementation of reforms and a necessary catalyst for public support for these reforms, which could further strengthen Georgia’s commitment to shared values and the principles of democracy, the rule of law, human rights and good governance. It is important for the European Union that Georgia guarantee the proper disposal of toxic and radioactive waste on its territory as a prerequisite for facilitating trade, especially, with regard to agriculture, in order to protect food safety."@en1
