The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund was created in order to provide additional assistance to workers suffering from the consequences of major structural changes in world trade patterns. Greece has requested assistance in respect of 642 workers made redundant from two enterprises involved in the retail sector. This application complies with the requirements for determining financial contributions, and I therefore welcome the mobilisation of an amount of EUR 2 918 500."@en1
