"I welcome the desire of the Court of Auditors to introduce the notion of efficiency in its work, with the novelty in this year’s Court report of including a chapter entitled ‘Getting results from the EU budget’. This notion is all the more important in the difficult period we are going through, during which we have a duty to be particularly vigilant regarding how we manage public money, by complying with the Financial Regulation, but even more so, by committing to use European contributions in the most efficient way possible. Concerning the Court of Auditors’ special reports for agencies and joint undertakings, I am, on the contrary, disappointed with the information that is becoming increasingly incomplete over the years. These decentralised agencies, present in various Member States, deserve, on the contrary, particular attention."@en1
