"Respect for the free movement of workers as required for the operation of the internal market requires mutual recognition of professional qualifications. In 2005, the EU adopted a directive moving in this direction. Today, it is a question of ensuring its implementation within the Union. To do so, Member States must show mutual confidence and promote mobility for qualified workers, especially young graduates. I therefore voted in favour of Emma McClarkin’s report, which calls for a simplification of the recognition procedures."@en1
