The lack of appropriate agreement among Europe’s political leaders is intolerable. They all talk nonsense, and in doing so, they are undermining the credibility of the European Union. Prompt action and rapid response are lacking, and the European Union is losing control of the situation. Too much is expected of the current Council summit, because it is high time we reassured European citizens and the decent players in the market, and took action against speculative capital, from which the euro area is constantly under attack. We need to find long-term solutions to the debt crisis in the euro area. First, we need to make the measures in the Euro Plus Pact part of Community law. Second, we need to increase the resources of the European Financial Stability Facility. Third, Eurobonds must be issued as soon as possible.
