"The current EU dual-use export control system requires these technologies to be authorised for export, which is a particularly sensitive issue in terms of their possible applications in relation to war. It is essential in this context to increase the transparency of national systems for controlling exports.
In the complex procedure to reform these mechanisms, Parliament – in its capacity as colegislator – does not currently have many options for making amendments. It would therefore be worth improving coordination and the role of the EU in international control regimes, thereby ensuring that the EU speaks with a single voice and with strong parliamentary backing on all issues for which the EU is exclusively responsible."@en1
