"Security scanners, along with any other types of control considered proportional and adequate for guaranteeing the security of aviation, are essential. Indeed, the European Union should take all measures necessary to ensure that they do exist, particularly in a world with increasingly global threats, and in which terrorism requires concrete measures from governments guaranteeing the public and society adequate protection. I voted for this report because I consider aviation and airports particularly vulnerable. In fact, the security of transporting passengers and cargo requires stringent and rigorous controls, and effective security measures for the prevention and detection of potential threats."@en1
